ACC Acupuncture
Bloom Acupuncture is a registered ACC Treatment Provider, based in Mt Eden,
Auckland. If you have an active ACC claim, you may be eligible for subsidised
acupuncture treatments - whether you're recovering from an injury, managing pain,
or navigating an accident-related condition during pregnancy.
Acupuncture and ACC - What You Need to Know

Many people don't realise that acupuncture is a recognised and funded treatment
option under ACC. If you've had an accident - whether at work, during sport, on the road, or at home - and you have a valid ACC claim, you may be eligible for up to 12 subsidised acupuncture sessions.
At Bloom Acupuncture in Mt Eden, we see ACC clients alongside our wider patient
caseload. You'll receive the same thorough, personalised approach we bring to every consultation - a full assessment, a treatment plan, and care that looks after you and your injury.
Common Injuries We See Under ACC
People come to Bloom Acupuncture with a wide range of accident-related injuries,
including:
● Lower back sprains and strains
● Neck and whiplash injuries
● Shoulder and rotator cuff injuries
● Knee, ankle, and ligament sprains
● Hip and sacroiliac joint pain
● Sports injuries
● Wrist and elbow injuries
● General soft tissue injuries
If your injury isn't listed here, get in touch - we're happy to discuss whether acupuncture may be appropriate for your situation before you book.

Pregnancy and ACC - A Combination We Know Well
One area where Bloom Acupuncture is particularly well-placed to help is ACC injuries that occur during pregnancy. This is more common than people realise - falls, sacroiliac joint sprains, and lower back strains can all happen during pregnancy and may be covered by ACC.
As a practitioner with wide experience in pregnancy acupuncture, Claire is your go-to acupuncturist in Auckland to manage the ACC injury safely during your pregnancy.
If you are pregnant and have an active ACC claim, please get in touch to discuss your situation. We can talk through what's possible before you book.
What to Expect at Your ACC Appointment
Your initial consultation (55 minutes)

-
We start with a thorough health history - including the details of your accident, your injury, any medical reports or imaging you have, and your overall health. From here we develop a personalised treatment plan and begin treatment in the same session. Please bring your ACC claim number and any relevant documentation (X-rays,
medical reports, referral letters) to your first appointment.
Follow-up treatments (40 minutes)

-
Follow-up sessions focus on treatment, with a check-in at the start of each appointment to review how you're progressing. Your plan will be adjusted as things develop.
What your treatment may include:
● Acupuncture
● Electroacupuncture (E-stim)
● Cupping
● Tuina massage
● Gua sha
● Moxibustion
Chinese herbal medicine is not funded by ACC but can be discussed as an additional option where appropriate.
